Expansion of FDF Airport

Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport is the only aeronautical platform on the French overseas department on the island of Martinique and its expansion project became necessary to support the increase in the influx of tourism in Martinique.

The project consists of several structurally independent buildings, mostly consisting of profiles and reticular trusses presenting bolted connection, grouped in the two East and West areas and the extensions of some existing buildings. The idea behind the expansion project was to resume the geometry of the existing structure, keeping the “two wings of the plane” present on the Aimé Césaire airport logo, integrating a third identity of Martinique: Pelée, the island’s volcano.
